These are the minutes from the last meeting:

Date: 8/12/99
BRFC Annual General Meeting
Location: Texas Burrito, Phelan, BEaumont
Attendees:
Mark Ernst, Jim Brickey, Kirk Carver, Clay Woodward, Kevin Barry, Bret
Babineaux, Duke Daigle, Will Beazley, Dermot Simpson, Jason (observer).

Agenda:
1. Review of activities of Executive Board since elected in July.
2. Election of New Official Executive Board

Minutes:
Reviewed recent playing activities which included A&M 7s tournament and
Houston Memorial 7s.

Training progress so far covered the start of official club training on 3rd
August.  Attendance so far is light with around 7 people attending each
session.  Emphasis to date has been on base fitness and stamina.

Members are reminded that training is on Tuesday and Thursday at 6.30pm sharp
for 90 minutes at Tyrell Park.

There has also been a group meeting at Tyrell Park for skills development and
touch at 9am on Saturday morning.  Coaching has been arranged by Dermot
Simpson on all three days with help form Kirk Carver and Bret Babineaux.

Players not attending are asked to make some sort of committment to attending
at least one of these sessions per week.

A social is being planned for all players, families and girlfirends etc. in
God's Country (Vidor?!) at Bret's parents house on Saturday 28th August.
There will be BBQ, swimming, tennis and all sorts of other entertainments.
It is expected to be an afternoon party.  Bret will publish more shortly.

Work is required on the posts at Tyrell Park which have been pulled out and
damaged.  Kevin has offered to help with this.

We are looking for a better lighted training surface.  The Salvation Army
pitch north of I10 in Beaumont is looking promising.  Thanks to Clay Woodward
with help from Bret for this work.  We will be moving there hopefully before
the end of August.  More details to follow.  Another possibility is a lighted
training surface at Lamar but this is not felt likely.

Will Beazley has been leading efforts to recruit players from Lamar.  Flyers
have been posted all around the campus and we will be involved with the
various college induction efforts later this month.

To help create a presence we will be trying to play a cup match with Bay Area
on the Lamar campus.  Duke has temporary posts for this.  This game is set
for 11th September.

See the website for the rest of the match schedule.

Duke shared details of the financial status and Zip progress so far.

Post pads are to be purchased with sponsorship offered by Chemtreat and Texas
Burrito/La Suprema from Jim Brickey and Mark Ernst respectively.  Other
sponsorship avenues are bieng investigated, e.g. Duke has some, Hoffbrau is
interested, bill boards at the pitch are being investigated.

Elections

The following nominations for Executive Board posts were then proposed,
seconded and filled without objection of any of the members present to the
process or the results.
